Founded in 1983, The Larrupin' Cafe has been a cherished dining destination in Trinidad, California, for decades. The restaurant was originally located in Westhaven before moving to its iconic location on Patrick’s Point Drive. The name "Larrupin'“, a Southern term meaning “finger-lickin’ good.” This sentiment has guided the restaurant’s philosophy, creating bold, flavorful dishes that have delighted customers for generations.
One of The Larrupin’ Cafe’s most famous contributions to Humboldt County’s food scene is its signature mustard-dill sauce, which was introduced in 1983 and has since become a regional favorite. The restaurant quickly gained a reputation for its eclectic, high-quality cuisine, making it a go-to spot for special occasions and memorable dining experiences.
In 2010, the restaurant was re-opened, breathing new life into the business and revitalizing its reputation as one of the best dining spots on the North Coast.
